 A Sad Loss

It is with broken hearts that we reflect on the past month of July and the sadness we experienced with the loss of Bro. Worth Freeman and Ms. Sally Hazel in August.  As we look back at old scrap books, pictures and videos, we remember many of our loved ones who are no longer with us.  However, we are thankful that our Lord blesses us, each day to be able to serve Him in the best way we possibly can, and we are thankful that we have shared and enjoyed wonderful times with our Leisure Timers who are now rejoicing with the Lord in Heaven and the ones who are unable to come to our activities anymore.   Those who are unable to come are sadly missed and I hope you will call or send cards to remind them that we still love them and would love for them to be with us.  Getting older and experiencing many disabilities is not easy to accept and we need to encourage each other.

Hospitality for the Soul

I have made 14 reservations for the 2007 Senior Adult Fall Retreat “Festivals of Color” at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center in Toccoa , Georgia for October, 24, 25, and 26.  These three days will include, food , lodging, workshops, and worship services.    Our featured speaker will be John Bryan ( Senior Pastor  of Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Atlanta), and we will worship through music with Bob Smith  There will also be door prizes and variety shows, along with the  Toccoa Falls College Touring Chorus.  The price of this conference is based on 2 per room, and most of the cost will come from the money budgeted though our church budget.  It looks like it may not cost but about $40.00 each.  We hope to be able to take our bus, but will make other arrangements if necessary.   This is our first experience with this particular conference, but I think we will enjoy our time together.
